As a portable barbecue device, outdoor gas oven is becoming more and more popular among consumers. However, during its usage, the hazards of poor combustion performance,low heat efficiency, and harmful pollutant emissions that exceed the standard exist. Therefore,how to develop safe, efficient and environmentally-friendly outdoor gas oven with high performance has become a practical problem for manufacturers. Based on Canadian Standards Association certification test platform in Yangjiang Xinli Industrial Co., Ltd, this paper studies the 4221-S tube oven, tests its temperature distribution and pollutant emissions of CO and NO_x, studies the chemical reaction during combustion of this type of oven by means of numerical simulation to analyze temperature, velocity and pollutant distribution during combustion, and then establishes a safety evaluation system of the combustion process. Main research results are as followed:Outdoor gas oven consists of 6 systems such as combustion system, safety system etc.After analysis of combustion process and formation mechanism of pollutant gases of CO and NO_x, this paper chooses appropriate combustion models and chemical reaction equations, and completes 3D modeling and mesh generation of combustion system components by using GAMBIT and ICEM software. Through simulation calculation of tube outdoor gas oven which is based on FLUENT software, this paper obtains furnace temperature, velocity and pollutant distribution, and carries out comparative analysis of these 6 gases from the horizontal and vertical direction and under different pressures(1900Pa, 2300 Pa, 2700 Pa,3100Pa, 3500 Pa and 3900Pa) to obtain temperature distribution and influence of CO and NO contents under various intake pressure.By reasonable design of testing platform, this paper tests combustion temperature distribution. This paper selects 12 monitoring points on the roasting surface to design temperature sensors and monitor change of temperature, reads stable temperature value as the experimental values, and tests reliability of the numerical simulation and finds out advantages and disadvantages of the two methods by comparing with simulated values. Based on the above results and the experiment of changing the size of the primary air inlet, the paper finds out contents of CO and NO increase when pressure increases, and their contents are connectedwith primary air coefficient, flame flow, and gas-air mixing state etc.Considering such hazards during combustion, this paper carries out in-depth research on user operation risk, oven and related equipment risk, and environmental pollution risk to establish safety evaluation system by means of AHP. Results show that main risks of outdoor gas oven come from weakness of safety awareness of barbecue personnel and gas leakage.
