As basic characterization parameters in geometric tolerances, straightness and flatness are also geometric elements in labeling parts shape. Straightness measurement which plays a decisive role,is a basic geometric content in the field of metering. As a common measuring tool to measure small angles, level often used in the industry for a plane tilt angle measurement occasions. The traditional gradienters have a lot of defects such as high energy consumption, low precision, being bulky and so on. Given the situation, this paper developed the electronic gradienter based on the MSP430F149. MSP430F149 process data, inclination of the plane measured. And then displays them on the screen in the way that degrees, minutes and seconds are. It did experiments about the resolution, stability of amplitude and readings, repeatability, nonlinear test and power test. These experiments confirmed that this instrument consumed lower power with a high degree of accuracy and was portable etc. This paper completed several key technology about the electronic gradienter.First of all, analysed works about the electronic gradienter of differential capacitor. Based on the principle, designed hardware and mechanical structure. In hardware design, used angle sensors,ADC and MSP430F149. They ensured that the electronic gradienter was high-precision and low-power. In software design, designed program interface based on HCI theory. Special filtering method and Piecewise nonlinear interpolation compensation had a very good effect. The mode LPM3 of MSP 430 was very easy and convenient. This paper did a lot of experiments for the electronic gradienter. Experiments showed that the electronic gradienter had a very good technical indicators and it was high-precision and low-power.
