Solid Granule Medium Forming Technology(SGMF) adapted flexible, bulk solid granule as power transmission medium to substitute rigid punch and existing soft mold sheet forming process to form light alloy tube and sheet. The process possesses tremendous advantages, besides beneficial friction on the work-pieces, non-uniform pressure distribution, easier to seal and establish pressure than the other medium, etc. Research and development of this process has a wide application prospect, so this process can provide a new technology and method for thermoforming of light alloy tubes that with high strength, low ductility, high-deformation, complex cross-section, high dimensional accuracy and high surface quality requirements.Based on the analysis of material performance test of 304 stainless tubes and research of the solid granule medium pressure-transfer performance test, the theoretical analysis model under uniform internal pressure was established. Considering the influence of the friction between granules medium and tube, study the plastic deformation of the tube under the effect of granular medium, analyze the stress and strain in the peak of the free deformation zone, the forming internal pressure and the thickness values of the largest in any forming height are solved. Ultimately, compare and verify with the experiment on the above conclusion.The convex ring SGMF bulging finite element model was established by applying the software ABAQUS, respectively discusses the free shrinkage of material and tube feeding case tube forming process, using the method of combining the numerical simulation and experiment, analysis the influence of the pressure head, loading height, bulging area length, friction coefficient, die corner radius and other process parameters on the bulge forming.Research has shown that by fitting SGMF technology based on theoretical analysis model of circular function and process numerical simulation on the basis of the convex ring bulging, for forming tube forming inner pressure, wall thickness distribution and the outline of the key parameters such as analysis and the prediction results agree well with process test, for solid granules medium forming technology in the practical application of pipe forming provides the reliable theory basis and data support.
