With the continuous improvement of materials, production technology, production equipment and the application field of nickel, new application of nickel tube has been developed in all fields. Straight seam welded pipe has completely replaced the seamless pipe in many areas because of its high production efficiency, low energy consumption, good forming quality and product precision higher merit. The nickel straight seam pipe is a kind of typical multipurpose tube. Nickel tube is widely used in soda industry, seawater desalination, chlor alkali chemical industry, sea oil exploitation and seashore power plants and other industries, and has great potential for market and more broad application prospects. So the development of nickel pipe forming technology has attracted more and more attention.In this paper, the studying object is ZG80 type stainless steel welded pipe production line that made in Foshan stainless steel mechanical equipment Co.Ltd. The main research line includes the nickel welded pipe roll forming process, plasma-TIG double torch welding process and process control. The study method combines field experiment and theoretical study to carry out a systematic study from five aspects, such as nickel straight seam welded pipe roll forming machine equipment, forming process parameters, straight tube nickel belt width theory analysis calculation, plasma-TIG gun welding method and process control system design.Nickel straight pipe forming process uses roll forming process(CUO molding method), generally using the upper and lower horizontal roller pressure by bending to the nickel with solid transverse bending, vertical and the auxiliary steering. After finishing nickel belt, it is put into the forming unit that includes strip at the entrance of the guide plate, a clamping feed roller, bend forming machine chassis parts, welding parts and sizing cutting part, a product rack form and so on. Among them, the most important component is welding equipment, mainly made of PHM-500 type plasma welding machine, WSE-400 TIG welding machine, CA-01 industrial cooling water tank, TX-3 plasma gun and TIG welding torch device.The main drive of forming machine is driven by electric motor, which mainly uses AC70 series(AC70-T3-011G/030P) vector frequency converter to realize the precise control of the speed of forming unit. Sequential control of Nickel pipe straight seam welding uses the programming controller(PLC-CP1H-XA40DT-D) as the control core, supplying touch screen MT6070 i H3 and CP1W-CIF11 communication module. The plasma-TIG gun welding system can be optimizingly, precisely, and automatic control, combined with PC technology and automation configuration software technology.In building plasma-TIG gun welding field experiment platform experiments to produce Nickel longitudinal welded pipe, for example(37) 112mm?3.5mm and(37) 48mm?3.5mm two kinds of specifications. The aim is to reasonably match main welding parameters of plasma arc welding current IP, plasma gas flow rate Q1, TIG welding current IT, protection gas flow Q, welding speed V, distance of double welding torch S2 and so on. In the condition of obtaining the good weld surface forming, the basic physical properties and the microstructure of the different sizes of welded pipe are tested according to the requirement of production. And make comparison between plasma welding and plasma-TIG double guns welding in the same specifications of the nickel tube.Finally, through analysis of the test results, it shows that plasma TIG guns welding can more effectively improve the welding quality and efficiency. Plasma arc welding has a perforated effect, and can achieve both sides formation; TIG welding arc has such a good covering ability that can achieve positive forming aesthetic effect, so plasma-TIG double guns welding meet the welding requirements of nickel straight seam welded pipe quality and efficiency.
