Both world population and livestock products human needs are increasing. Chicken is one of the most popular foods. The environmental problems caused by increasing broiler chicken slaughtering demand much attention. There are many methods focusing on environmental impacts of chicken production. Life Cycle Assessment aims at analyzing the resource consumption and environmental impact of a product from cradle to grave and can provide objective and reliable suggestions for decision-makers. The study used life cycle assessment to analyze the environmental impact load, which includes global warming potential, acidification potential, eutrophication potential, ozone layer depletion potential, abiotic depletion potential fossil, freshwater aquatic ecotoxicity potential, human toxicity potential, photochemical ozone creation potential and terrestrial ecotoxicity potential, of a broiler chicken slaughterhouse based on CML2001 method from construction phase to decommissioning phase and found the environmental hot-spots of the system. The results can provide suggestions for the same industry about cleaner production and energy conservation. The results showed that the production of concrete, mortar, steel, production equipment and pvc-u drain-pipe is the environmental hot-spot of construction phase; the production of electricity used for operation is the environmental hot-spot of operation phase and in terms of departments the operation of slaughtering room and refrigerator is the main factor responsible for the environmental impact; the production of energy used to dismantle the building is the environmental hot-spot of decommissioning phase. By normalization, ADPfossil causes the largest damage on environment. The Analytic Hierarchy Process has been used to weight the nine environmental impact categories and then the Life Cycle Total Environmental Impact has been determined. The LCTEI is 4.44′10-6 and the environmental impact load of slaughtering 10000 broiler chicken is 9.87′10-11 and FAETP、ADPfossil and EP are the main contributor which account for 33.36%, 32.97% and 9.98% respectively. We used sensitivity analysis to look for variables which has the most impact on LCTEI and concluded that the impact on LCTEI resulting from electricity consumption in one year is less than from the production of mortar, but after a decade of operation a saving of electricity will reduce the LCTEI considerably. Then we used the Monte Carlo simulation to conduct an uncertainty propagation experiment involving some variables and concluded that the uncertainty propagation from the building materials to GWP is little but from electricity and energy consumption to GWP is much. The measures which can mitigate the environmental impact involved that: a) choosing the building materials which has lower impact score and reducing the size of factory and the amount of building materials; b) implementing cleaner production, saving electricity, choosing production equipment which has low power and caring about energy consumption in slaughtering room and refrigerator particularly; c) dismantling building with lower energy consumption and reducing the size of factory for the sake of lower energy consumption.
