In recent years, fully-mechanized top-coal caving mining technique is applied to increase coal mine production. However, despite the increase of coal production and the rapid growth of economy, the application of this technique reaults in the increaing thickness of left coal and a greater probability of left coal self-ignition, which will finally greatly increase the risk of spontaneous combustion of left coal in goaf area. In order to ensure safety production of coal mine, it is necessary and significant to set up a scientific, impeccable, and effective monitoring system.According to the mechanism of left coal self-ignition, in consideration of the poor environment and complex physiognomy of the goaf area,this thesis designs a set of pre-warning and monitoring system of left coal self-ignition in goaf based on Zig Bee wireless sensing technique. The whole system contains three main parts: wireless sensing network, ethernet server and host-computer software. The system adopts Zigbee wireless sensing technology to collect the temperature data in goaf and the concentration data of CO. Then the data is uploaded to the host computerby ethernet technique, merged and analyzed to realize real-time monitoring in goaf area.After testing, the system runs smoothly, normally and accurately, and achieves the design objective. It covers the shortage of limited monitoring range, complex wiring and high cost of present monitoring devices. In addition, the monitoring systemcan be temporarily installed and can upload data automaticly and flexibly, which has some practical significance and construction value.
