High speed machining is one of the core technologies in advanced manufacturing field.The product processing quality and production efficiency can be improved significantly by high speed machining technology. Automatic machine tool is the technical guarantee in order to realize high speed machining. Motorized spindle is the key component of automatic machine tool.Static and dynamic characteristic of motorized spindle is the key factor which affects machine tool performance. So, it is necessary to carry out optimal design and analysis on the static and dynamic characteristic of motorized spindle.In this paper, the general form and basic structure of motorized spindle has been explained. Dynamic model of motorized spindle is built on the foundation of its structural feature. And the result of motorized spindle dynamic model is verified and optimal designed by the application of finite element analysis software. The concrete details are as follows:1.Establishing the transfer matrix of typical unit based on the basic theory of rotor dynamics and classical mechanics. And transfer matrix equation of dynamic model of motorized spindle is established in this paper. The transfer matrix equation is solved by MATLAM programming. The results include first three order natural frequency and mode vibration. Whether the dynamic performance of motorized spindle could satisfy its actual need or not is verified by the results.2.By using the finite element method and combining with the finite element analysis software to establish finite element model of motorized spindle unit. The motorized spindle static stiffness is obtained bythe static analysis of motorized spindle. Thevalidity and efficiency of numericalcalculation of dynamic model is simulated and verified by the finite element analysis software. The influence of bearing preload and the position of rear and fore bearing on the static and dynamic characteristics of motorized spindle is analyzed by the parametric calculation function of finite element software.The dynamic response of front-end, middle and back-end of spindle is analyzed by harmonic response analysis.3.Based on the static and dynamic analysis of motorized spindle,bearing span is optimal designed by finite element softwareof motorized spindle is analyzed by the parametric calculation function. Two kinds of parametrical model of motorized spindle areestablished. And parametrical models are calculated and solved, respectively.Under the premise of meeting the electric spindle dynamic performance requirement,the static stiffness of motorized spindle is promoted...
