With the recent development of Metro’s role in the city, more and more cities have a subway construction planning. Shield construction is commonly used in subway construction, Earth Pressure Balanced Shield tunneling (EPBS) is becoming the main tunneling technique with its technical and economical advantages.One of the key techniques of EPBS is correcting soil condition. The technique of correcting soil condition, which is changing the characteristics of the soil by adding some modifier in the soil, made the soil into the best state of plastic flow. Mainly ameliorant is bentonite slurry, foam, or foam slurry.This paper is mainly to assess the new slurry amendments by experiment. Through the indoor mixing test, skateboard test, bucket test, and mud test for new slurry modifier and evaluate the effect of different soil improvement and give a quantitative analysis of the improvement effect Combined with the Metro 10 line shield construction, use the new slurry modifier on the part of the lot and improve evaluation of the soil, analyses the influence of new slurry in a practical project of construction. Conclusion comprehensive analysis as follow:(1) Based on the actual construction principle of shield, designed to simulate the process of the work shield and do indoor test. Using relevant parameters of the new type of slurry improved quantitative analysis of different soil optimal effect.(2) Based on the experiments of the new tape slurry, using the common slurry to improve different soil and evaluate the effects. Get the comprehensive analysis on the difference between the new slurry and the common one when used to improve the soil.(3) Combined with metro 10 line section of construction, handle live part test data to check the rationality of the design of indoor test verified, and assess the effects of soil improvement by new slurry in the EPBS.This paper will combine the new slurry and EPBS shield construction, quantitative analysis for different new slurry improvement of soil effect and the influence of construction. Not only to improve EPBS construction project progress and cut down engineering cost, and make the improvement effect evaluation directly in the laboratory realize, to avoid the blindness of construction site, has a guiding significance for actual construction.
