Based on the traditional vacuum preloading method, the direct vacuum preloading method is a more effective method on strengthening soft soil foundation. The method has extensive value on application and promotion which is applied in the area lacking medium coarse sand. Based on the second-stage strengthening soft construction of Tianjin Harbor Industrial Park and the work of previous studies, the text carries out the following works by methods of theory analysis, field monitoring and soil test and numerical simulation:(1) Combined with the project practice, the text sums up the construction technology of vacuum preloading method on large-area hydraulic filling, and then put up the scheme of field monitoring and test.(2) Based on the results of field monitoring, the text analyzes and discusses the rule of vertical settlement of the ground, the rule of pore water pressure, and the rule of horizon displacement and water table, and the development rule of soil strength.(3) Based on the results of filed tests and soil tests, the text evaluates the reinforce effect of soft soil reinforced by vacuum preloading method.(4) In the text, exponential model, hyperbolic model and grey model (1,1) which are based on observed settlement date are used on forecasting the settlement of soft soil of the test area, and the uniform evaluative standard is built which can evaluate the applicability of the three models.(5) Based on the Mohr-Coulomb constitutive model and Biot consolidation theory, the text build the numerical simulation model by FLAC3D, and forecasts the settlement of soil, and the Results and tolerance analysis proves the feasibility of the method.
