Study On The Mechanism Of Vacuum Preloading And Theory Of Foundation Settlement

This paper focuses on explaining mechanism of vacuum preloading and the prediction and analysis with finite element method for settlement of foundation treated by vacuum preloading combined with surcharge. Five main parts are as follows: Chapter1 introduces the development and current research of vacuum preloading. Chapter2 explains in detail the mechanism of vacuum preloading by constructing model and experiment.Chapter3 introduces how to predict foundation settlement with local observed data .the author obtain a semi-experience and semi-theory formula by equalizing the problem of three dimensional consolidation of sand well foundation to the problem of one dimensional Terzaghi consolidation.Chapter4 makes use of damage mechanics to get a wide used elastic-viscoelastic-viscoplastic damage model and analyze the consolidation problem of the model with finite element method.Chapters summarizes the main contents of the paper and further perfect the issues of the paper.
