With an increasingly grim background of the environmental pollution and energy situation, the development of solar and other renewable energy sources has been becoming an urgent need. Dish solar thermal power generation is the most promising technology, with broad prospects for development. Stirling engine is the most important part of the solar thermal power generation system, which is responsible for absorbing solar energy into electrical energy. Stirling engine’s performance is good or bad, which derectly determines the success or failure of dish solar system. Therefore, how to improve the engine’s power output and efficiency have become an un- solved and crucial problem.First, as for the Stirling engine power output and efficiency issues, this paper takes the four-cylinder double acting Stirling engine for the emphases research and respectively describes the three commonly used and analog methods of analysis of Stirling engine. By comparing, we select more reasonable and desirable method - adiabatic analysis, within the Stirling engine performance research. We mainly describe the adiabatic analysis and establish suitable for the four-cylinder double acting Stirling engine simulation performance model for the target function. While, we use the specific conditions as the constraint conditions to consider in the recycling process may be associated with some heat losses. In this paper, we focus on providing the three losses of the influence of Stirling engine power output and efficiency information.Secondly, the adiabatic analysis method has listed the differential equations in the Stirling engine thermodynamic cycle; we use fourth-order Runge - Kutta method for solving the adiabatic model of differential equations. In order to quickly and accurately calculate these differential equations, we compile VB program with computer to achieve fourth-order Runge - Kutta method for solving differential equations. Therefore, we also can calculate engine’s relevant performance parameters.Again, we build a test platform in one Company attached to a school Limited to simulate and analyze Stirling engine power generation process through actual working conditions, and find out that the heating temperature and system average pressure is power output and efficiency of the main factors, which the whole process is in commissioning process. On the basis of using the Tecplot v10.0 software to simulate the electrical performance. Finally, I put forward some problems about Stirling engine power generation process and some feasible suggestions in order to improve power output and efficiency.
