With the development to the direction of high power wind turbine, which makesthe load on the bottom of the tower also gradually increases. The foundation insert, as akey component connected to the tower and foundation, its structure strength andreliability directly affects the safety of the tower.. In this paper, the static strength of thefoundation insert, weld fatigue, hole fatigue and joint bolt fatigue are analyzed, but alsoon the strength of the connection flange analysis and calculation to verify the safety ofthe foundation insert structure. These research methods for wind turbine foundationinsert structure provide a basis for the design and check, and have some practical valuein engineer.The main research included following work:①According to the German Society of Germanisher Lloyd (GL) certification andEurocode3certification, check the structural strength with engineering calculations andfinite element method.②Using the relevant theory of fatigue analysis, analyzed the fatigue life of theweld,reinforcement hole and the joint bolt on the foundation insert.Studies therelationship between the stress and external load on the joint bolt,corrects the S-N curveof the joint bolt, provides an effective and feasible method for the fatigue life analysis ofthe joint bolts on foundation insert structure..③This paper analyzed the L flange connection structure of foundation insertstructure.Based on the theory of the Petersen three failure modes, analysis the carryingcapacity of the flange connection structure,and using the finite element methodvalidation, considering the influence of several factors on the strength of the flange,Finally, the T-shaped flange connected with the foundation conducted a check of thesize.④Optimized the design of the foundation insert.using free shape optimizationtechnology, application software Hyperworks Optistruct module for the pass of thefoundation insert stiffeners optimization, the optimization of foundation insert designapply a basis for the design of foundation insert.
