The laminated membrane coupling with good flexible was applied in areas for high speed machinery and large displacement offset such as connecting an engine with the airplane accessory, rotor and tail wing in the helicopter as well as driving in the ship and generating electricity in wind. In this thesis, the stress under complex circumstances was analyzed and investigated for several laminated membrane coupling according to their structure and loads so as to acquire the fatigue life, the offset capacity of the distortion and dynamic characteristics. The structure design method of the coupling was comprehended for to acquire the direction suggestions for laminated membrane coupling design. The conclusions and contents about studying in the thesis as follow:(1) The loads were analyzed and studied in theory acting on laminate coupling under practical operating condition.(2) A new and more practical FEM model was proposed and the results were more close to practice.(3) The new12layers connecting model was built concerning the surface shearing and extruding for relative motion and the calculation result was close to real value.(4) The strength and fatigue life were analyzed. The stress distribution and the offset capacity of laminated membrane coupling were analyzed under the conditions that the centrifugal force, torsion, axial force and angle load was acting respectively and jointly. The results were shown that the pre-tightening force provided by bolt supplied suitable the flexibility and offset capacity at the same time enhancing stiffness of12layers laminated membrane coupling, and the laminated membrane coupling satisfied requirement of the static strength under maximum load was met. The static strength analysis indicated that the "tight waist" structure which had more uniform stress distribution was better than the "circle" structure of the laminated membrane coupling. The fatigue life analysis of the laminated membrane coupling was shown that the life was sufficient between heavy repair period and next time under alternating load was estimated.(5) The vibration modes were analyzed for the laminated membrane coupling. The natural frequency and vibration modes of the laminated membrane coupling were analyzed under free state and simplified installation condition making use of the simplified FEM model of laminated membrane coupling. The Harmonic response which was induced by angular misalignment load was analyzed. The result was shown that the torsion vibration would not occur within the working speeds range. The Hammering method was applied to laminated membrane coupling for different sizes and structures in the two conditions that whether the lubricant was added between the membrane or not, and that validated the model was correct. The FEM model was modified according to the experimental result. The studied results supplied conference for design of the laminated membrane coupling basing on contrast analysis for strength, dynamic characteristics and fatigue life of the variety laminated membrane coupling.
