Linear ultrasonic motor is a new type of motion control components..Because of its fastresponse, self-locking when power off and no motion of conversion mechanism, it has beenwidely applied to precision positioning systems. There are some self-positioning and orientationproblems in the micro-cell operation control systems. The problems have three keys: the first oneis independent manner; the second one is high speed in self-positioning; the third one is highaccuracy. The operating principle of linear ultrasonic motor is different from that of theconventional electromagnetic motors. Linear ultrasonic motor (LUSM) is a novel motor utilizingthe mechanical vibration that is generated by the inverse piezoelectric effect of piezoelectricceramics. The friction degeneration between the stator and motor leads to the running instabilityof the linear ultrasonic motor. The accuracy of the precision positioning systems has been largelylimited to the running instability of the linear ultrasonic motor. The speed stability has been calledbottleneck of the development of the linear ultrasonic motor applications. Therefore, it issignificant for us to do the research on the speed stability of the linear ultrasonic motor.In this proper, we choose the control methods of the linear ultrasonic motor as research object.Firstly, AR module is proposed. Also the driving and control system which is based on linearultrasonic motor has been designed. The hardware of the driving control system is made of aPSoC3core chips Cypress, communications and feedback circuit and so on. The software of thedriving control system includes the PC and LabVIEW. The PC has achieved the serialcommunication between up and down. LabVIEW here is applied to develop the host computersoftware. The movement date of linear ultrasonic motor can be multiple collected, displayed,processed and saved.This paper has showed some experiment which is based on the speed control of linearultrasonic motor. The comparisons between fixed gain and variable gain PID also are showed inthis text. The control method based on linear ultrasonic motor is applicable and effective. Theexperiment conclusion is: By using a rotary encoder which resolution is1000p/r, the system whichintroduces the AR algorithm effectively controls the linear motion. The CV of the linear motorwhich work at frequency32.6kHz can be achieved at0.77%.
