The failure of blade causes by vibration is very common. It possessed about one third of thestructural abnormal events of aircraft engine. Use friction damper to reduce the response is a verysimple and effective method. It is widely applied in the blades of aircraft engine, turbine system inpower station and gas turbine. It can considerably reduce the vibration level of structure. So, it is veryimportant to research the mechanism of the vibration absorption by dry friction. The result possesimportant theory and application value in engineering. In this paper, the research on dry friction damper is based on three-dimensional macro-micro slipmodel, The influence factors of reducing the vibration responseare achieved by calculating example. At the same time, the finite model of bladed disks was used,so the vibration characteristics of thewhole bladed disks can be calculated. The main contributions of the paper are:(1) The three-dimensional macro-micro slip model is established, which is based on the two-dimensional macro-micro slip model. In this model, the influence of the normal pressure is considered. At the same time, the influence of static friction and kinetic friction are lso considered.(2) Transfer the dry friction force to equivalent stiffness and damping. This translation canconsider of the nonlinear characteristics of friction.(3) The blade vibration response analysis programs are developed,by using the APDL and VC++language. The influence factors of reducing the vibration response (such as the positive pressure, theforce and so on) about different blades are achieved by calculating example.(4) A measurement scheme was designed to accurately measure dynamic responses ofnon-rotating shrouded blade. The dynamic response of the first bending mode of the shrouded bladewith different shroud were measured under various initial normal loads on the interface and differentexciting force. The effects of the initial normal load and the force on the friction damping wereanalyzed from the test data.(5) Use the method of “Duplicate sector” to establish the mathematical model for the cyclicsymmetry structures in the harmonic vibration response. Make a secondary development in ANSYS toget the program. Use the program to calculate the vibration response for the blade with the serratedshrouds.
