Forklift truck mast structure is the main working device and load-bearing mechanism, mainly tocomplete forking, handling, lifting and other operations of the cargo. In order to ensure the safety offorklift truck work, forklift truck mast structure can not fracture and produce plastic deformation. However, the forklift truck often hand and lift cargo extremely frequently and long hours under thecomplicated lane conditions,it is likely to cause fatigue failure for forklift truck mast structure, causing huge economic lossses and ecurity incidents. In order to ensure the safety of the structure andpersonnel, reduce economic losses, people have to consider conducting forklift metal structure faultsimulation technology research. This paper uses a forklift truck as an example, firstly finite element model of forklift truck maststructure is established using UG, HyperWorks software, and has carried on the static analysis. Resultsshow that the stress at the corner of fork is largest, and it is more dangerous parts of the structure, prone to fatigue fracture. Then taking the fork as the research object, modal analysis and frequencyresponse analysis are made in the absence of cracks and crack containing both cases,to study therelationship between the natural frequencies, mode shapes, displacement response with the variation ofthe crack depth. From the three aspects fault simulation of pallet fork is carried out,and provide areference for fault diagnosis of pallet fork. Finally, based on the singular element method and fracturemechanics theory, the way to calculate the three-dimensional crack stress intensity factor is found, andthe influence of crack depth on the stress intensity factor is analyzed.Analysis results show that, when pallet fork damages, it is feasible to identify the crack damagewith changes of natural frequency, modal shape and displacement response. It provides a reference forfault diagnosis of pallet fork, but also provides an analysis method and idea for fault diagnosis ofother metal structure containing crack.
