Application Of A New Type Retractable Roof Structure

With its unique activities feature, retractable roof structure takes into account the effectsof both indoor and outdoor use building, and meet the desire of the people returning to naturewith integration of the external environment. As technology advances, various forms ofretractable roof structure appear unceasingly. So far, hundreds of retractable roof buildingshave been built around the world. These buildings not only provide people with a comfortableenvironment, but also give people a good visual effect by different styles of shows.In this paper, by summarizing the current type and opening mode of retractable roofstructure, a new type of retractable roof structure，which is different from general supportingmode，is put forward. This kind of structure is supported circulatory between the front beamand the back beam, and realize the switching function by moving the bearing point betweenthe front beam and the back beam. According to the structure, this article analyzes thegeometric characteristics of the composition of the structure,and analyzes the degree offreedom in the horizontal and vertical directions, and concluded that it is a simple structure,defining characteristics of the force in the vertical direction, then verifies by mading amodel.According to the characteristics of the structure, the article studies the force anddeformation characteristics of the structure, and provides the corresponding formula. Byapplying such structure in roof, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the roof unitmovement, discusses the feasibility of this retractable roof structure in the opening andclosing, and discuss the shape of the roof unit design, mechanical systems design andconstruction. Finally it is concluded that, the roof unit of this kind of structure has advantagewhich is small span, light weight and easy to be move. This kind of structure can be applied tothe venue and stadium roof with switching function.
