With the continuous development of national economy, China’s public transport networkreaches nearly everywhere. Owing to the increasing of highway mileage, highway is morelikely to be damaged, and the workload and work strength of highway maintenance aresoaring, which will gain more and more emphasis from relevant authorities. Pavementdilapidation auto-detection and recognition is the first step of highway maintenance.Obviously the traditional manual method cannot adapt to the demands of road detection, andthe method for road distress recognizing based on machine vision is currently the focus ofdomestic and foreign research content.The main topic of this paper is the design of the pavement recognition system based onvehicle. This system mainly includes pavement images collection part and road crackdetection part.The main contents of this thesis can be summarized as follows:1. Mainly briefs the domestic and foreign research present situation of pavementdilapidation auto-detection and recognition system, introduces the hardware workpatterns, specifications and model numbers for the hardware.2. This paper researches a method for image processing technology, and compares theadvantages and disadvantages of each method, defines the steps to develop pavementdilapidation auto-detection and recognition software. The processing results of thissoftware are the same as artificial classification.3. On the basis of OpenCV(Open Computer Vision), the software of pavement dilapidationauto-detection and recognition system is designed and tested. By making continuousimprovements of program code, the damages of road can be presented.4. The information of length, width and area are measured by the minimized rectanglewhich enclosed the damages area. The pavement dilapidation degree can be derived bythe equivalent elliptic main axis and the distance of outline. |
