Along with the rapid development of social economy, the infrastructure ofhighway transportation has been further improved. However, how to effectively carryout maintenance on highway network and solve the problem of growing traffic safetyhas always been the important research topic of the traffic engineering field and theroad detection field. The road surface parameters not only affect the driving safety,but also have profound significance for driving comfort and driving efficiency.Improving the determination method of the road surface parameters has great andfar-reaching significance for high rate and high level development of transportationindustry.This paper mainly obtains the structure depth of the asphalt pavement in view ofthe collected image of the asphalt pavement structure through the extraction of theheight data matrix, the pretreatment of the data matrix and the plane fitting method ofthe typical values of the sub matrix regions.To make full preparations for the implementation of the algorithm, in this paper,first of all, we introduce the general principle of the image acquisition and illustratethe encapsulation device of the image acquisition based on the non-contact lasertriangulation method, then illustrate the generation, extraction, tailoring pretreatmentand the filter pretreatment of the height data information of the collected image inview of the specialty of the asphalt pavement material.This paper mainly expounds the plane fitting design algorithm of the asphaltpavement structure depth based on the height data matrix of the collected image. Thisalgorithm uses the most values of the sub matrix regions as typical values, thenobtains the absolute depth of the asphalt pavement structure difference based on themethod of scatter fitting plane, finally obtains the structure depth of the asphaltpavement based on the thoughts of average value and absolute difference value.The effectiveness, universality and reliability of this algorithm are verifiedthrough the comparison between the laboratory data and the actual asphalt pavementenvironmental data. This algorithm not only can be applied to the detection of the asphalt pavement structure depth, but also can be applied to the determination of otherparameters in the field of road detection.
