SBS modified asphalt has been widely used in advanced highway pavementstructure for its excellent high and low temperature performance which caneffectively retard the formation of pavement’s rutting and cracking.However,duringthe process of using,the asphalt pavement’s durability and service quality is seriouslyaffected by the premature failure,the lack of high quality SBS is responsible for thefrustration in the sustainable development and widespread using. Therefore,it issignificant in engineering to developing the new type of SBS and identify it’scompatibility with the asphalt.The rheological properties of the asphalt is one of the most important aspects ofthe asphalt pavement performance.The article mainly adopts SBS(T6302) which iscompounded by couping method and three kinds of pure asphalt to explore theengineering characteristics of these SBS.Meanwhile,this article uses four componentmethod to analysis the component of the three pure asphalt.These asphalt have beenmodified by diffident SBS and the basic technical performance has been tested.Thepaper applies dynamic shear rheological tests and the low temperature bending creeptest to evaluate the rheological properties of the pure asphalt and the asphalt whichare modified by liner SBS compounded by couping method and other liner SBSfrom diffident factories.In addition,the article analysis the types of pure asphalt,theamount of SBS added to asphalt and different kinds of SBS how to affect therheological properties of these modified asphalt. The results show that: The higherthe content of heavy components in matrix asphalt, the better the performance ofasphalt, while higher content of light components in asphalt, the better the lowtemperature performance;modified bitumen asphalt made of different asphalt, thebetter high temperature performance of fuel-90,the better low temperatureperformance of Esso-90; the content of T6302is4.2%, the modification effect isbetter; Under the same dosage of T6302, the rheological properties of asphalt whichare modified by SBS compounded by couping method and the asphalt which are modified by SBS produced in our country are similar at the high temperature, but theformer have better rheological properties at the low temperature.The research results are valuable for improving the quality of SBS modifiedasphalt,optimizing the SBS polymerization monomer ratio and the conditions ofsynthetic process and etc.
