In the modern power system, with the significant increase of the non-linear, impactresistance, the volatility of the load, the power quality pollution of the power system is gettingworse. Harmonic distortion caused by these loads is an important factor affecting the powerquality. When the power supply to the nonlinear device and system load, the devices or loads thattransfer, converter, absorb the fundamental energy supplied by systems, and also convert energy toharmonic energy, send down a large number of harmonics to the system, so that the sine wavepower system is distorted, the power quality decreas, damage the system equipments, a directthreat to the safe operation of the power system.Inverter power system is one of the major contemporary harmonic sources. This article takesAC-DC-AC inverter for the study, analysis harmonic content generated by the inverter, and thefactors affecting the amount of harmonic drive emphasisly. Based on the analysis of the basicvoltage inverter work principle, the article works on the effects of the harmonics characteristic onthe voltage inverter side; After analyzing the work principle of the current inverter, research thecharacteristic of the current inverter on the side harmonics. Using the mathematical tools-fourierto decomposite the harmonic distortion and calculate the harmonic content; analysis the influenceof the harmonic characteristics affected by the inverter capacitors, inductors parameters detaily,select the drive parameters determined starting from the principle of harmonic. Secondly, analysisthe harmonic characteristics of the load side in the inverter and the effect of the harmoniccharacteristics caused by the value of the load side. Finally, analysis the harmonic characteristicsof the inverter using SPWM control technology, the effect of the output voltage distortion causedby the carrier ratio and modulation.The research work provide a scientific theoretical for the power system harmonic activecontrol technology, provide some reference for the harmonic control in the practical application.
