Facing intensified competition of the global market, the quality of productsreceives much more attention. Mechanical products’ quality standards (accuracy, durability and reliability, etc.) depend on the reasonable tolerance principle in someextent. This thesis is a systematic study of key techniques about mechanicalmanufacturing tolerances and implementation solutions with realistic conditions. Tomeet the actual manufacturing environment with processing operations selection, it isa vital academic and realistic value to utilize intelligent optimization technology toimprove manufacturing quality and promote tolerance allocation. This study proposed a new tolerance allocation method based on intelligentoptimization techniques, established a costs-tolerance relationship model to achievethe minimization of total manufacturing cost as objective function. The optimizationof tolerance allocation needs to meet quality requirements as constraints conditions, such as assembly precision, design features. Especially, when considering the currentenvironmental manufacturing information, various manufacturing process operationsmake the relationship between the cost and tolerance different. Therefore, theintegrated tolerance allocation with manufacturing process selection, not only matcheswith process planning technology, but coordinates the optimal balance of costs andquality. The main research work and the results are as follows:Firstly, to review the tolerance allocation theory and key technology, summarizeand analyze the methods usually used, and compare their advantages anddisadvantages.Next, to take the influence factors of manufacturing process selection intoconsideration of tolerance allocation model establishment. Since machiningcomponents require different processing operations, tolerancing by choosing the mostsuitable combination of operations, not only meets the tolerance standards, but keepthe total manufacturing costs in a low level. In chapter4, integrated processing operations selected for tolerance allocationconstrained optimization problem, the article using genetic algorithm and particleswarm algorithm to construct a suitable mechanism for handling discrete constraints;simultaneously, proposed new TLBO based problem solving constrained optimizationalgorithm, and using there are examples in the literature of the proposed algorithm fortesting. In chapter5, the use of modeling and optimization methods proposed to solve themachine tool equipment manufacturers on quality and cost control aspects of theproblem, this study validated method for solving the tolerances in the actualmanufacturing environment-the job selection process is reasonable and effective. Finally, we summarize the full text contents and conclusions, the analysisoutlined further research direction and content.
