In this paper, we use the welding parameters of a container ship of a company toestablish a information system which used to calculate welding consumables and basicwelding hours. In the process of ship construction it will meet vast amounts of welding data.Ship welding volume information system batch processed the data will be segmented intounits. The data of system is divided into two parts, one part is the welding parametersimported by the computer, it includes section name, assembly name, the name of the weld,the length of the weld, beveling code1, beveling code2, weld types, welding, fillet weldleg(In the butt weld, fillet weld leg is half of the thick sheet). The other of the data such aswelding speed and the deposition rate is stored in the knowledge base. The resource of theimport data is come from Tribon which is the software for ship designing. After thecompletion of the assembly Tribon will generate a CSV format with welding information.After adjustment in Excel then import the data of this file to the system for consumablesconsumption and welding hours. After the information processing then get the value ofconsumption of consumables and basic welding time. Reasonable calculation of weldingmaterial and time can effectively reduce production costs and improve the competitive ofenterprises. Establishment the system of information of ship welding volume has greattheoretical significance for material procurement and enterprises’ personnel assignments.This system combines database technology and expert system to complete the task. Thedatabase provides the function of data storage, browse, query and so on. Expert systemrelate to the task of welding material and basic welding hours to search the proper weldingspeed and deposition rate for each seam, then complete the calculation.This system uses SQL2005as database management software. On the basis ofinformation on a large number of welding parameters has been analyzed. This system usesPower Designer to design logical and physical data model. In this paper, Delphi7.0as adevelopment tool for the realization of the module.
