Warships are acting like primary roles on the platforms of sea defense system. Andone of the most important guarantees of battle effectiveness is warship cabin. That is whywarship cabins have become key protection areas. Since warships are very important in seawar, they absolutely have become the main targets of anti-ship missiles.As the max threat of warships in sea war, anti-ship missiles attack them in two ways.One of them is explosion outside the warships, and the other is explosion after they get intothe cabins. Explosion outside the warships can make the structures be out of shape, orbroken. But it could hardly made a devastating damage to the navy soldiers nor navalequipments inside the cabin. However, explosion inside the target is much more effective tomake a huge and irreparable damage.Considering the worst condition happened to warships as anti-ship missiles hit thetargets and explode inside cabins, bulkhead structure is the most important barrier to fightagainst high speed fragments which are secondary products of explosion. Weather navysoldiers and naval equipments can escape from the deadly threatens brought by high speedfragments, it all depends on the penetration resistance of bulkhead structures. So, designinga new bulkhead structure to effectively fight against high speed fragment is very importantto both defending soldiers’ lives and reinforcing battle effectiveness.Above all the importance of bulkhead structure, the main characteristic works havedone as follows:(1) Introduce the importance of advancing bulkhead structures’ penetration resistance,how to realize it, and reach status of penetration resistance. At the same time, the articlesimply introduces the design thought of new honeycomb sandwich bulkhead structure;(2) Recommend the key technology of penetration numerical simulation, whichinclude the development of the finite element method, and how to use the finite elementmethod into penetration resistance problem. Then, this article give a simple introduce toMSC/DYTRAN software;(3) Conduct processes as high speed fragments penetrating stiffened bulkheadstructure, U-shaped sandwich bulkhead structure and new honeycomb sandwich bulkheadstructure in numerical simulation calculation with MSC/DYTRAN. By summarizing andcontrastive analyzing the results, we find out the new honeycomb sandwich bulkhead structure is the most effective bulkhead structure;(4) Keep surface density of bulkhead structures constant, then change the amount oflayers in core, and conduct another group of numerical simulation calculations. Bysummarizing and contrastive analyzing the results, we find out the new honeycombsandwich bulkhead structure with two layers of core is the most effective bulkheadstructure;(5) Keep surface density of bulkhead structures constant, then change the thicknessratio of new honeycomb bulkhead structure, and conduct another group of numericalsimulation calculations. By summarizing and contrastive analyzing the results, we find outthat when the new honeycomb sandwich bulkhead structure with one layer of core isdesigned as2:1:2in thickness ratio, it could fight against high speed fragment mosteffectively;(6) Keep the thicknesses of top and bottom panels of bulkhead structures constant,then change the layer and the thickness of honeycomb core, and conduct another group ofnumerical simulation calculations. By summarizing and contrastive analyzing the results,we find out that when the new honeycomb core is designed as2mm in thickness and2inlayers, it could absorb the largest amount of energy per kilogram.
