PEMFC is a kind of generating set that though electrochemical rection.Compared with the traditional power generation device, Proton exchange membranefuel cell has higher energy conversion rate because it is not limited by the carnot cycle.With hydrogen as fuel, oxygen as oxidant, and it can operate at low temperature, so it isa clean of green generating set. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells are widely usedin various fields,such as the power source of automobiles and ships、a small mobilepower supply etc.The bipolar plate is one of the important component of the protonexchange membrane fuel cell, the properties of the bipolar plate affects the businessprocess and development of the proton exchange membrane fuel cell.This topic mainly from three aspects to study proton exchange membrane fuelcell bipolar plate. First of all, we prepared the raw material of composite bipolar plate,the carbon filler carbon aerogels、expanded graphite、thermoplastic phenolic resin. Thecharacteristic of raw materials were verified by scanning electron microscope, X-raydiffraction analysis (XRD), thermal gravimetric, the structure and surface functionalgroups of the raw materials were characterized by Fourier transform infraredspectroscopy (FT-IR)。Secondly, we used the melting mix method and the adsorption method toprepare expanded graphite matrix composite bipolar plate. Melting mix method usedexpanded graphite and phenolic resin powder as raw material to mix directly, and theoperation process is simple. Adsorption method use expanded graphite andthermoplastic phenolic resin as raw material. This method could make full use of theadsorption properties of expanded graphite with the porous structure, expandedgraphite and thermoplastic phenolic resin complexed very completely. Theircharacteristics were mainly verified by the mechanical properties、 electricalconductivity,and so on. Experimental results showed that the different preparationtechnology and the different content of raw material had a certain impact on propertiesof composite bipolar plate. It showed that compared with the melting mix method, thebipolar plate prepared by adsorption method had a better comprehensive performance.The optimum comprehensive performance could be achieved at the content of resin with35%~50wt%.Finally, we added the carbon filler carbon aerogels to composite material toprepare modified expanded graphite matrix composite bipolar plate by different addingprocess. The experimental results showed that the addition of carbon aerogels tocomposite material had improved the performance of modified composite. It increasedthe electrical conductivity and mechanical strength of the composite material, reducedthe bulk density and the contact angle of the composite,etc. The optimum performanceof modified composite could be achieved at the content of carbon aerogels with around2wt%. |
