Currently the urban motor vehicle quantities continuously increasing alongwith the rapid development of our country, the transportation is gradually caught ina tense situation. Traffic problems including traffic jam and frequent accidents havebecome the main problems to restrain the society from developing. So it is vital toaccomplish the mission of corresponding emergency rescue. Which requires a verycomprehensive understanding of traffic flow characteristics in various roadconditions to control and manage traffic scientifically. The traffic flow theoryresearch methods include probability theory, fluid mechanics, kinematics, carfollowing model, cellular automaton model, etc. Among them, cellular automaton isespecially suitable for simulating the phenomenon of microscopic traffic flow.Based on the NS cellular automata model, this paper established a modifiedmodel with new added lane change rules and a randomization probability function.Then the cellular automata model for city traffic flow under the influence of specialvehicle (D-SDCA model) was built through introducing the different passage way ofspecial vehicle. And its simulation interface was developed with Matlab. After that,numerical simulation analysis and model validation were taken based on lots ofsimulation experiment. Finally this paper developed and applied the D-SDCA model,further analyzing the traffic flow characteristics under different road trafficcondition with the influence of special vehicle.Comparing emulational data and actual measured data, the model is proved tobe reliable, as well as the numerical simulation result. Through various numericalsimulation tests of diverse condition, it analyses the influence on different density oftraffic flow caused by special vehicle, meantime comparing the incidence andpassage effect of the two kinds of special vehicle, and studying the impact onspecial vehicle and entirety traffic flow under various factors including differentinterference area, section length, number of lanes, etc. Thus it summarizes thepassage influencing characteristic of special vehicle, then proposes someimprovement measures and rationalization proposals for managing and controllingthe traffic flow besides the emergency rescue work.Cellular automaton has wide application prospects in the study of traffic flowtheory. This paper expands its applied range and provides an effective tool forsimulating the emergency rescue of special vehicle, which is of great practical andtheoretical significance.
