The eccentrically braced frame(EBF) structure is an effective lateral forceresistant architecture.This paper studies the hysteretic behavior of eccentrically bracedsteel frame structures with the combination of high-strength steel under cyclic loading,the failure mode of structure, and then made the seismic design recommendations.This research have three10-storey Y-type eccentrically braced framestructures,with combination of which are: the pure steel Q235, Q460and Q235combination, Q690and Q235combination; two18-storey Y-type two eccentricallybraced steel frame structures, with which steel combination are: Q460and Q235,Q690and Q235. In the structure with combination of steel, the classes of steel used inlink are Q235, the others use high-strength steel. Pure Q235eccentrically braced steelframe structure is used to compare with structure with high-strength steel. Then we canget the performance of eccentrically braced steel frame combined with high strengthsteel. The parameters here are the combination of steel strength, the number of layersof the structure.In the analysis, we have to model the structure we described above. In order to getgood results, we use solid elements for links. Because the structure is so high, we usebeam elements for others.In this paper, the material nonlinearity and geometricnon-linear effects are considered. We used kinematic hardening to model thestrengthen of the material, incremental method for solving nonlinear equations withNewton-Raphson iteration. In order to validate the analysis way of this model, here we verify the experiment of Yu Anlin.Finally, according to the results of the finite element analysis,we can get the pointthat the pure ordinary steel eccentrically braced frame structure have a good energydissipation than the eccentric braced frame structure with the combination of highstrength steel.The frame of the combination of high strength steel structure have alower shear ratio.It may cause the bad performance of structure.So it is suggested thatmodify the related coefficient when it comes to the design of the combination of highstrength steel structure.
