With environmental pollution and energy depletion, energy conservation andemission reduction are paid more attention by people. In this context, hybrid electricvehicle (HEV) is regarded as an important development direction by many domestic andoverseas car corporations. Power source of Plug-in coaxial parallel HEV are oil andelectricity. The design of the HEV control strategy and powertrain parameter matchingaffect vehicle dynamic performance and fuel economy directly. Based on Plug-in coaxialparallel HEV, this paper developed a simulation and selection software. This softwareachieved the powertrain key components parameters selection and optimization as well asanalysis prediction of the vehicle performance. This paper included the following content.(1) Strategies of energy distribution and braking energy recovery, as well ascorresponding shift strategies according to the characteristics of the plug-in HEV aredesigned. Based on the MATLAB/SIMULINK platform, this paper established vehicleseconomy and dynamic simulation models.(2) According to performance indicators and corresponding parameters set by users,it calculated possible values range of the powertrain key components parameters.Thereare two parameters matching methods according to users’ selections:1)Based on existingcomponents of the HEV in the firm, all components which meet the requirements werecombined and simulated to find the optimal combination.2)Firms redeveloped power andtransmission components according to the specific requirement of HEV, and found theoptimal value by genetic algorithm. Then, the firm design and manufacture correspondingparts based on previous parameters.(3) Analysis of selection and simulation results of the Plug-in coaxial parallel HEV.Based on the economy of vehicles, it analyzed system selection scheme and contrastedsimulation results of different selection schemes.
