With the rapid development of economy, the progress in science and technologypromotes the awareness of super tall buildings. The building, to some degree, canexpand the living space and ease the land shortages in the process of urbanization. Inaddition, it breaks through the bottleneck in construction technology, and promotes thedevelopment of construction industry. However, the characteristics of super-tallbuildings, such as huge size, various functions, increase the potential quality problemsin the construction process. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the qualitymanagement, especially the quality management in the construction phase, as the keystage of the project. All aspects at this stage like personnel, machineries, materials,methods, environment and organizational system will affect the quality. At present,research on quality management of super tall construction is still rare. It seems to begreatly significant to explore the factors affecting quality management of generalcontractors directly responsible for the quality, and establish an evaluation system toappraise the process and results of the quality management.According to related literature, the current theories about the quality of projectmanagement have matured, while the study on performance evaluation of qualitymanagement is rare, and mostly focuses on the enterprises. Domestic research on singletarget management from the project level is still in the preliminary stage. It is necessaryto carry out research on performance evaluation of quality management. Based on thetheoretical research related to quality management, this paper explores the connotationof quality management of super tall construction, and combs the key factors that affectperformance from construction preparation, formal construction and completionacceptance. Then, by combining relevant literature with management practices, thispaper classifies these factors according to quality assurance system, operation andmanagement of the quality assurance system, on-site entity quality, acceptance and datamanagement, thereby establishing a performance evaluation system. Furthermore,through innovatively combining AHP with extension theory, it shows the index weightdetermining method and comprehensive evaluation, in order to appraise the qualitymanagement comprehensively and objectively, and to provide a reference for it.In order to verify the feasibility of above performance evaluation system, this paper takes a super tall construction project for an example, and shows the relevant databy visiting experts and conducting field research. Then it processes and analyzesthe data, the conclusion of which reflects the level of the project and the key factors inquality management, thereby improving the shortcomings regarding the qualitymanagement. Finally, for the practical problems that may be encountered in theoperation of performance evaluation system, it puts forward corresponding suggestionsand measures to promote the evaluation system more perfect.
