The overhead transmission line is one of the most important components of thepower system,whose running the state directly affects the reliability of the entire powersystem operation.With condition based maintenance of the power grid thoroughdevelopment, running the correct assessment of overhead transmission lines and providescientific decision-making is the key to overhaul successfully. The purpose of this paperis to propose a state assessment of overhead transmission lines and maintenancedecision-making. By performing failure mode and effect analysis of overheadtransmission lines, it’ll establish the reliability evaluation model of overheadtransmission lines effectively and research the determination method of a importancedegree of the special section area, the probability of failure and other parameters.The main results of the paper obtained are as follows:①Considering the overhead transmission line of each unit and its functions, usingfailure modes and effects analysis to complete FMEA table of overhead transmissionlines,determining the primary failure mode of transmission lines and the correspondingfault feature, building fault tree model of overhead transmission line and giving thedetermine method for the probability of each failure mode.②Considering the reliability of special section in overhead transmission lines willbe affected by related factors, according to the relevant operating procedures, analysisthe environmental characteristics and the multiple fault of some special sections, andfault variable weights is proposed for multiple correction model of transmission line in aparticular range.③For the traditional transmission line maintenance mode is conditioned by humanresources and low efficiency of maintenance,establishes a set of transmission linemaintenance decision model based on the analysis of the full consideration ofenvironmental factors, provide the basis for the transmission line maintenancedecisions.④Give a flow chart to assess the reliability of the transmission line evaluationmethod based on fault tree analysis and evaluation examples,application examples ofmaintenance decision-making model for transmission line.the efficiency of theevaluation method the and the model of maintenance decisionsis verified throughexamples.
