With the development of urbanization and modernization in China, appear morefrequently coupled over-limited vehicles under the drive of the economic interests ofthe overrun transportation. Over-limited vehicles for the use of the bridge will causegreat security risk, even bridge directly crushed because of heavy truck. However, overrun transportation is a worldwide problem, it is difficult to solve in the short term. Therefore, the research on over-limited vehicle load is of great significance for thedesign and maintenance of the bridge.Based on the long-term monitoring data of vehicle loads on Liushi road inHangzhou, using the basic theories and methods of probability and statistics. Firstly, through the study of the statistical analysis of the traffic situation, understand thetraffic composition and distribution of the road. Secondly, using MATLAB to compilethe corresponding software program, according to the criteria of over-limited vehiclesto filter out the data, then analyze the statistical results of over-limited vehicles’ totalweight, axle load, wheelbase and other parameters for setting up the load model ofover-limited vehicles. Finally, through establish existing bridge model with MIDASfinite element analysis software, analyze load effect and the effect of internal forceunder the two states caused by over-limited vehicle load. Compared with the existingcity bridge load, to get the increasing coefficient of existing bridge load effect and theeffect of internal force leaded by over-limited vehicle, and evaluate bridge structurewith the increasing coefficient.Through the study of traffic conditions on the monitoring section, confirming thefact that overrun transportation is difficult to avoid. According to calculate the addedvalue of existing bridge load effect and the effect of internal force caused byover-limited vehicle load, getting the conclusion that over-limited vehicle load canadversely affect the use and life of bridge. Though evaluating the existing bridgestructure, validating the impact of over-limited vehicles on the bridge operations.Meanwhile, over-limited vehicle load model established in this paper can provide areference for the design and maintenance of the bridge.
