As the nonlinear characteristics being obvious and the manipulation efficiency rangessignificantly in Flying-wing UAV maneuvers, traditional control methods can hardly achieve themaneuvering flight control any more. With the expansion of the range of UAV flight envelope, onesingle controller can’t guarantee the quality control during the whole envelope as the flightcharacteristics varies greatly.In this paper, the coupling compensation mechanism is designed based on the notable couplingcharacteristics between vertical and lateral of the sample UAV and on this basis the robust control lawis designed at the typical working point obtained from the envelope division. In order to adaptive themaneuvering flight control requirements, the RSLQR-L1control method is used for the longitudinalcontrol of the sample UAV and C*is chosen as the controlled variable, meanwhile, the RSLQRcontrol method is applied on the lateral control and the roll angle is chosen as the controlled variable.As the characteristics range significantly through the envelope, a partition method for envelopebased on fuzzy clustering is designed to obtain the typical operating points as well as the interpolationmechanism of gain scheduling according to the comparability of the dynamic characteristics and themaneuverability in some partial flight regions, the number of operating points and the membershipfunction are obtained as well. The gain-schedule mechanism is designed based on the membershipfunction and the control law, the control effect is analyzed and verified through the whole envelope.At the last part, several representative maneuvers is designed and the simulation results show thatthe response of the sample UAV traces the control command well, which implies that this flightcontrol law for UAV maneuvers during the whole envelope works effectively.
