The RC structure may suffer from external impact effect during the service period inaddition to static loads. Impact may cause local damage of the structure, even the wholestructure collapse. Therefore,it is a great significance to study the deformation and damage ofthe RC structure under impact loading. This paper studies the nonlinear dynamic responsewhen the RC structure impacted by projectile by using the ABAQUS software. The mainresearch works are as follows:(1)Verified the reasonableness of the numerical simulation method. This paper usenumerical simulation method to verify the drop hammer test of a simple supported RC beamin the article. The numerical results generally agree better with the experimental valuesreported in the literature, in terms of impact force history, mid-span defection history andcrack patterns of RC beams. This verified the correctness of the material mode and themethod to mesh.(2)The analysis of dynamic response of RC beam under drop impact. Considering theinfluence of the impact position of the hammer, aspect ratio of the beam, depth-span ratio ofthe beam, the initial impact velocity and the hammer’s mass on the impact response. On thebasis, put forward a simplified analysis model through the energy consumption, and a methodto predicted the final mid-span deflection of the beam.(3)The analysis of dynamic response of RC frame under vertical impact. Consideringthe impact position of the hammer, initial impact velocity and the stiffness ratio of beam tocolumn of the frame. On the base of the computing results, put forward another simplifiedmodel for RC frame under vertical impact, and a formula to predict the final mid-spandeflection of RC frame beam.(4)The analysis of dynamic response of RC frame under horizontal impact. Consideringthe influence of the initial velocity of the hammer and the stiffness ratio of beam to column ofthe frame on the frame dynamic response, when the hammer strike at the top of the column,1/2height of column and3/4height of column. And put forward formula to predict the finaldisplacement of the impact position of the column, when the hammer apply to the top of thecolumn,1/2and3/4height of the column.
