With the world energy depletion, the world environmental pollution andthe drawbacks of the traditional large power grid are becoming more and moreserious. The distributed power generation with renewable energy is becominghighly valued. In order to make the distributed power advantage into full play,reduce the burden of power grid, improve the reliability, stability and economyof power supply, the micro-grid emerge at the right moment.First the fundamental composition of the micro-grid is analyzed, andmaking a brief description of operation characteristics and key technology. Thecomposition and operation status of micro-grid and demonstration projects athome and abroad are summarized.Secondly, each part of the micro-network model is built. The model of aphotovoltaic cell array, boost circuit and inverter control circuit model are built.These models can achieve Maximum Power Point tracking (MPPT), Thesimulation model is validated. Small-scale grid-connected wind power systemseparately PMSG is established. Its structure, control method are analyzed. Themicro-turbine model, control parts are studied. The output of each part issimulated and discussed during load changes. The storage part, charge anddischarge part, inverter part are introduced.Then, by analyzing the mathematical model of the inverter, twotypical micro-grid control strategies which consist of PQ and Droop control areestablished. The two models can meet the control requirements ofmicro-sources with inverter interface by simulation.Based on the three models,micro-gird operation examples were given with Master-Slave control.Finally, energy management control of micro-grid has been established onthe basis of micro-grid. Energy management control strategies are analyzedduring the time of islanding conditions and grid conditions. The load switchingis simulated and verified in the situation of islanding. Islanding detectionmethods are summed up. The impacts of the magnitude and phase voltage togrid are compared during off grid to grid. The switching of grid–off grid–gridis simulated. Power quality management of micro-grid is an important part ofenergy management control. Different forms of voltage quality problems, suchas voltage sags and voltage imbalance, may cause serious economiclosses. Power quality management of micro-grid is proposed and designed. The results of simulation curve prove that the controller designed could makethe conversion between grid-connected and islanding operation seamless andthose models provided an effective way of establishment of simulation platformof micro-grid operation control and energy management.
