With the rapid development of China`s highway, the construction has made remarkableachievements. However, the accompanying problems also followed closely one by one. Thesupporting transportation facilities have not yet set an exact match to its construction, and thenecessary traffic signs settings are imperfect. Lacking of facilities and relevant drivingconditions, has gradually become an important factor in the accident-prone of China.Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the reasonableness of the highway traffic signsoptimization and its application effect. Then the ancillary highway traffic safety facilitiescould be established and improved.Focusing on the problems of optimization of the highway traffic signs logo set in its`renovation and expansion and by comparing the new and old GB contents, in this paper, theshortages of the old GB and the revised main contents of new GB are summarized. Then fullyconsidering the impact of road conditions on highway traffic safety, the key considerationsections of the highway where traffic signs need to be optimized are identified. Byconsidering the impact of traffic conditions on traffic safety, the optimization categories basedon optimizing the speed of driving and based on members stress response are proposed.Secondly, focusing on the vehicle speed, the optimized setting of the highway trafficsigns are analyzed. Relying on the project “the optimization and validation study ofBeiJing-ShiJiazhuang highway reconstruction and expansion progress” and through thespecial sections site visiting and speed measurement, using the V85speed data processing,combining speed simulation analysis, conclusions and recommendations are given.Meanwhile, the driver`s response behavior to the traffic signs is analyzed. By selecting theappropriate laboratory equipment and instruments (MP150physiological signal analysissystem) and experimental design, processing experimental data, effectivenessrecommendations are then proposed.Finally, based on AHP, highway traffic signs to identify the effect of optimization theoryevaluation model is established. By evaluating the project, it is found that the evaluation result of effective of the expansion and renovation of the highway traffic signs optimize applicationare coordinated with the reality situation. This evaluation method not only can objectivelyreflect the problems of the traffic signs before the highway expansion, but also can achievethe early prevention of problems of traffic signs design, set up, highway operation after therenovation and expansion.
