The curved girder bridge is the necessary structure for the traffic flow to collect anddisperse. In recent years, as the increasingly development of transportation and urbanization,single column pier continuous curved bridges have been vigorously developing, and has beenwidely used in highway interchanges and Overpass bridges. Because of the characteristics ofsingle column continuous curved structure itself, the internal and external sides of abutmentanti force distribution may not be uniform.It is easy to cause the emergence of bearing disjointphenomenon. In the previous years, there have happened many continuous curved bridgesoverturning failure accident. Bridge engineering as the livelihood projects, structureoverturning failure is directly related to people’s life and property safety, so it is necessary todeeply study on the performance of anti overturning of single column curved girder bridges.Special the safety performance of the structure under the action of the overload vehicles.In this paper, based on the analysis theory of curved bridge, set up several finite elementmodels of single column curved girder bridges using beam-girder method under the differentwork conditions.Including the same span different curve radius, the same curve radius ofdifferent span bridges. Based on such models, analysed the variation of end beam internalbearing force under constant loads.and researches had been done on the method of reasonabledistance for bearing eccentricity. At the same time, studied on the determination method formaximum load of the typical overload vehicles in traffic flow crossing the bridges. The maincontents are as following.Firstly, based on beam-girder method, several finite element models of single columncurved girder bridges were set up under the different work conditions.Including the same spandifferent curve radius, the same curve radius of different span bridges and analysis thevariation of end beam internal bearing force under constant loads.Secondly, the variation of bearing force under the city-A design live load in the differentwork conditions had been analysed.Thirdly, Studys had been done on anti overturning stability coefficient under differentdesign live load conditions, and compared variation of the coefficient for different bridgestructures.Fourthly, Selected typical overload vehicle in traffic flow and make the most unfavorableload condition.Then made study on the maximum load carrying capacity of the bridgestructure in the limit state and serviceability limit state of typical vehicle respectively.
