Wing girder and fuselage beam are connected together by their butt joints whichjointed together via ultra-high-strength bolts. The wing girder is one of the mostimportant bearing components of the wing, so external loads suffered by the wing aretranslated to the fuselage mainly by the wing girder to keep balance. As we all know, aircraft failures and fatigue often occurs at the part of connections, so it is important todesign the connection part. This paper estimates the geometric parameters reasonably after considering theactual situation, and then using Pro/E to model the three-dimensional model of the winggirder and the fuselage. Then the small holes that easily cause stress concentration andlow impaction on the key parts of analysis be removed, in order to make results morereasonable.Propose the methods which can translate Pro/E model into ANSYS, then thetranslation be completed. Appropriate Boolean operators may be taken before meshingas well as setting material properties and unit type. Summarize meshing methods andprecautions of mesh, in order to do reasonable mesh of the structure. Methods simulated contact behavior should be proposed to define the propercontacts pairs. After comparing and analyzing, we know the best method to simulatepreload of the bolt is setting preload section, so create a preload section and thenpreload. Analyze the force being bear by the wing girder and reasonably estimate thevalue of the forces. Propose the methods to apply shear and moment on one face andthen choose one proper method to complete it.Finally, choose proper solver and define proper solving items to solve it. The errormessage which popped must be solved, in order to ensure the convergence of thecontact with fiction. The structure can be simplified after analyzing the results of the analysis. The earthickness or the value of preload of the modified structure can be modified to optimized.
