| Sandwich panels with lattice truss cores can be used as lightweight multifunctionalmaterials due to their high specific strength and stiffness and their multifunctionalbenefits. The main content of this thesis are doing some experiments and numericalsimulation to obtain the shearing performance, three point bending performance and thein plane compressive response of metal sandwich panels with improved pyramidal trusscores. Firstly, the finite element simulations of sandwich panels with improvedpyramidal truss cores under shearing and three point bending and in plane compressionhave been done. We conducted how the thickness of the panel and the truss coresinfluent the mechanical behaviors of sandwich panel. Secondly, shearing, three pointbending and in plane compressive experiments have been carried out in order to get themechanical properties and failure modes of metal sandwich panels with improvedpyramidal truss cores. At last, we compared the finite element results and experimentaltests to obtain the more comprehensive mechanical properties of the metal sandwichpanels with improved pyramidal truss cores. |
