In recent years, for a growing number of specia l adverse weather, comb inedwith continued growth in vehic le ownership, traffic congestion and trafficaccidents occurred frequently, serious ly affected the socio-economic life of thecity and highway traffic operation. In order to alle viate these traffic proble ms,operating characteristic, distribution characteristics and the relationship of trafficflow have become an important object of study. However, the current traffic flowis not yet in-depth research, the existing models about traffic flow parameters arebased on classic three-parameter traffic flow data for research, but therelatio nship between other traffic flow parameters are not carefully investigated.Traffic manage ment measures under adverse weather cond itions is genera llybased on past experience, artific ial formulation and adjustment, lacking ofguidance and support on sc ientific theory of traffic flow theory, making thetransport system in exceptiona l weather can easily cause paralys is. There fore, toreduce the impact of bad weather on the highway transportatio n system, developrationa l traffic manage ment and control strategies, we must master the changesof traffic flow parameters under various adverse weather conditions.This paper investigated the observed pheno mena in traffic flow study,compared several methods of traffic flow measure ment as loop detectortechnology, video detection technolo gy, wireless location technolo gy and so on,determined using video detection technology to obtain the data needed for thestudy of traffic flow fo llowed by the collection sche me for video data (such astool preparation, acquis ition time, Locality). Described the applicatio n princ ip leof video data detectio n, and through the video detectio n procedures and technicalprocessing o f data obtained various parameters of traffic flow. Then ana lyzed thetraffic flow characteristics of freeway traffic flow research methods and bas icsections.As the basic freeway traffic flow under norma l weather, rainfa ll andsnowfa ll cond itions for the research object, based on actua l observation freewaytraffic flow data, select the speed, the speed difference, acceleratio n, headway,and lateral offset characteristic parameters. By the probability of traffic flowparameters under different weather conditions, the distribution characteristics,significant d ifferences were ana lyzed to obtain the degree of attenuation oftraffic flow parameters under rain and snow conditions on the freeway.Comb ination o f the above ana lys is, us ing s urface domain distribution model,curve fitting a nd regressio n analys is and other mathe matica l methods, construct the relations hip model about traffic flow parameters under various weathercond itions, and fina lly through actual observation data to expla in theeffective ness and rationa lity of the model, which can enric h microscopic freewaytraffic laws for highway traffic ma nage ment and control and provide a theoreticalbasis and practical value.
