Modeling Design Study Of Automotive Complex Products Based On Design Theme

Automotive complex products combine advanced engineering technology andunique artistic innovation, they play an important role in the construction of nationaleconomic development. Modeling design is an important link of Automotive complexproducts product development. In terms of Automotive complex products design, thecharacteristics of modeling design is both process and result could be the necessity toresearch as design methods and objectives. Design theme is the cor e idea throughoutthe design thinking and modeling design, guiding the whole design work.The research objects of this paper are Automotive complex products, we try tosummarize and analyze modeling design constraints and design theme types duringthe design process, then we analyze design theme proposed strategies under differentdesign constraints. Through case studies, we summarize the theme design methodwhich contains the theme imagery analysis, morphological divergence of themefeatures and modeling expression of the theme, to explore a kind of design method ofAutomotive complex products which guided by theme. At last, we use a householdMPV interior door trim design project as an example, this project is under theguidance of emotional design theme to complete the design proposal, which verifiesthe feasibility of the design approach based on themes preliminarily.Design is a bounded rationality creative act, although there is not the onlyreliable technical standards, but still has rules to follow. Different design scenariosconstructed by modeling constraints uses different theme to help designer to establishdesign goals effectively, and improve design efficiency.
