According to theories of ergonomics, the paper finishes the system of parametric design of the automotive seat and the arrangement of seat and panel in the automotive cab through the secondary development on the platform of Unigraphics NX4. This system contains three modules: the module of parametric design of the automotive seat; the module of the arrangement of seat in the automotive cab; the module of the arrangement of panel in the automotive cab.Firstly, the paper analyzes the relations between the seat design parameters and the human body dimension On the basis of the Sitting Posture Theory and Chair Designing Principles. The database of standard human body dimension based on the knowledge of human engineering and GB 10000-88 is built to driver the human build module of Unigraphics NX4 so that the parametric manikin can be built. A parametric seat design module developed on agronomical dimensions'driven is empoldered using UG/Open API on the Unigraphics NX4 platform. The module makes that seat is created according to the human body. The module improves the working efficiency of the designer and assures the seat satisfying the standard of human Engineering.In SAE J941 there is a method to work out the H point which called driver's comfort curves. The paper analyzes the strongpoint and shortcomings and we put forward a new method to work out the H point. This method takes into account the effects of driver's comfort, visibility, steering wheel and so on. With this method we can get a optimized H point zone satisfying with requests of the driver's comfort, visibility, steering wheel.The paper not only develop the interactive interface of automotive design satisfying the theory of ergonomics but also realize the arrangement of automotive seat and penal. All of the modules developed in the paper improve efficiency and quality of the automotive seat design and automotive cab arrangement.
