Performance Optimization Of High-speed Gasoline Engine Oil Cooler

To ensure the normal operation of components of the engine, we mustguarantee that the temperature of each component is controlled within a certainrange so that it can run properly and efficiently. And the engine cooling systemis such a system. In the entire cooling system, the cooling medium is coolant, andthe main components have thermostat, water pump, water pump belt, radiator,cooling fan, water temperature sensors and so on. Oil cooler are also part of theradiator. Its main function is to control the o il temperature, to ensure the goodlubricating properties, to reduce the wear of components, to improve the lifespanof the engine and so on. The research of theory and pract ice of oil cooler canimprove the oil lubricating properties, and further improve the efficiency of theengine, which is a worth studying course.In this paper, we regard high-speed Marine engine research project as themain research object. According to the original machine caused by excessive oiltemperature and tile burning, Pro/E i s used to establish the oil cooler and thewhole machine model. And we use fluid analysis software Star-ccm+forfluid-solid coupling analysis, to analyze the flow field and temperature field ofit. And then analyze the cooling effect of the engine lubr ication system; analyzethe cooling effect of the oil cooler and make evaluations. It finds out thedeficiency of oil cooler design through CFD analysis, uses the theory of heattransfer for the improvement of the structure and improves its cooling perform-ance. Finally, we will have a comparison before and after the improvement of thecooler and then evaluate the efficacy of the optimization. After optimization toimprove the physical machine test result, oil cooler has a good control of the oiltemperature, so as to improve the reliability of high-speed gasoline engine,eliminate the tile burning phenomenon.
