Vacuum dredge in rectification of building deviation is a new technology. Especially it is very economical and effective for a inclination building on the soft soil foundations. It was constructed after the drill, using soil as a piston, lifting after the piston, piston vacuum formed. Using vacuum dredge, the soil under building foundation was replaced. In this paper, the engineering controlling points and test data using vacuum dredge technology in the inclination building rectifying project are investigated, basing on an analysis of the mechanism of vacuum dredge technology and combining with in-situ deformation data from an example of strengthening and rectification project in Wenzhou.In the paper, combining of theoretical analysis and field monitoring method, an analysis of the mechanism of rectification of building by vacuum dredge is made of, the inclination causes of building is presented, the strengthening and rectification program is put forward, the process of vacuum dredge and building settlement are described, the effectiveness of building deviation rectification by the vacuum dredge method is illustrated. The main contents are as follows:(1) Through load calculation, calculation of bearing capacity of foundation and analysis of building inclined reasons, a specific scheme for to be rectified building is proposed.(2) The mechanism of vacuum dredge method is analyzed with similar experiment of vacuum dredge. Mechanism analysis contains two aspects. The one is soil replacement under the foundation during the vacuum dredge stage, and second one is the settlement after construction, using perturbation theory of one-dimensional consolidation analysis and calculation of soil.(3) Vacuum degree, the amount of vacuum dredge, the influence range with depth of dredge are investigated in the rectification process with the aid of an author’s building rectifying project.(4)According to the existing relevant specification, the targets are developed for the reinforcement and rectification of buildings. Comparing actual treatment effect and measured values of controlling parameters in rectification project with the soil mechanics theory analysis, deviation mount and the inclined reason are found.
