Satellite antennas run in the space environment, they should adapt the extremelyexecrable conditions so that they can work as normal. Periodically dramatic changes intemperature cause the thermal distortion and thermal stress, which may seriously affectthe performance of antennas, so the thermal control design was required. Normally, thevalidation of the thermal control programs can be carried out via two means: one isthermal tests, and the other is computer simulations, the former is costly andtime-consuming, but the latter is convenient and efficient, which also become moreand more popular. However, due to the increasing complexity in antennas structure inrecent years, on the one hand, there still exist many problems in simplified process ofmodeling and simulation conditions, on the other hand, maybe the complex model cannot be simulated by a computer or will demand much more time. Therefore, it is a veryimportant issue how to establish a rational and efficient satellite antenna model forthermal analysis and thermal-structural analysis.By dint of the UG NX software, firstly several issues about thermal analysissimulation modeling for spaceborne antennas are studied in this paper, which mainlyinclude the problems of equivalent model processing for simple geometries, some keytechniques related to mixed-dimensional models, and the contrast and analysis of theresults of the thermal simulation for a passive spaceborne antenna bymixed-dimensional model and full-solid elements model, so it can provide guidance tothe engineering practice of the thermal modeling of spaceborne antennas, and attain thepurposes of rationally using resources and improving efficiency.Following is a discussion of some problems about thermal-structure analysis ofspaceborne antennas, which mostly covers the method of thermal-structure simulations, the means of processing mixed-dimensional models, and the thermal-structuresimulation of a spaceborne active phased array antenna. At the end of this article, the research on the distribution scheme to interfacialthermal resistance of a phased array antenna is made, which primarily introduce therelevant theoretical knowledge of interfacial thermal resistance and response surfacemethodology, and base on the interfacial thermal resistance between antenna parts theresponse surface equations of antenna surface precision and the highest chiptemperature are developed, meanwhile the optimal design of the distribution scheme to interfacial thermal resistance is made, which provide a new ideas for the optimizationdesign of a phased array antenna in practical engineering.
