As a new era of automobile steering technology,electric power steering system(EPS) gradually occupied the market of automotive steering system, for the advantageof optimized and simple structure,convenient and esay operation,high-precisioncontrol as well as energy-saving.To do some experimental study on EPS, can not onlysave the cost of real vehicle test, but also quick and easily access to relevanttheoretical data. Based on the above reasons, the following contents were researched:After a review of the relevant technical standards of the automotive industry onthe steering system,a steering system of objective evaluation indicators wasdeveloped.Based on our existing test bench,some related experiments were doneaccording to objective evaluation indicators,such as functional testing,steeringportability test, teering back positive performance test, input and output characteristictest,assisted current characteristic test,etc..Analysis shows the system in line withnational technical standards.Through the study of the structure and kinetic theory of EPS system and thesimplification of the relevant structures,the mathematical model of the steeringsystem is built.On the basis of the test bench measurements of the structuralparameters,the paper take the resulting parameters into the mathematical model toobtain the transfer function of the testing system.Finally,based on the study of the EPS theoretical knowledge, the domestic andforeign research on the steering system was annlysed comprehensively.Thesimulation softwares AMESim and Simulink were carried out on the bench test,thefollowing results were got, such as functional testing, steering portability test, teeringback positive performance test, input and output characteristic test, assisted currentcharacteristic test of simulation.The experimental results obtained by the simulationand experiment platform were analyzed, the results show that in both cases the resultsare basically in agreement with the experiment,which proved the correctness andeffectiveness of the analysis of steering system on bench test.
