Since the reform and opening up, along with the rapid development of social economy of our country, on the one hand, the activities of urban residents have been more frequent, the demand of going out has also been increasing; on the other hand, the rhythm of urban life has become faster and faster, urban residents strongly hope to have a safe, convenient and comfortable traveling condition. However, along with the steady growth of urban car ownership in China, our cities have to face increasingly serious traffic problems. Therefore, priority policy of public transit has become the inevitable choice of urban development. Considering our country’s actual national conditions, we can conclude that--if we want to implement the priority policy of public transit, we should give priority to the development of bus. What’s more, we should give more priority to the construction of bus station. But, as an important part of urban public traffic system in our country, today’s urban inner bus transportation commonly has lots of serious problems, for example, the number of the bus station is not enough, the size of the bus station is too small and the layout of the bus station in the city is not reasonable. If those problems can’t be solved, it is impossible to implement the priority policy of public transit.Through deep analysis of these problems, we can obtain that:under today’s market economy of our country, fund becomes the main means to allocate urban land resource, the land benefit has become the most important factor for the decision-making of government. The pure commonweal characteristic of the traditional bus station and extensive land use pattern lead to the capital contradiction and the land use contradiction, and the two contradictions become the main reasons of the above problems of bus station.So, this paper firstly studied the connotation of a comprehensive development pattern and its profound effect in solving above two contradictions. The following is the main context of the pattern:the intensive exploitation of the bus station can alleviate the land use contradiction and multifunctional development of the bus station can solve the capital contradiction.Secondly, in terms of urban planning, this paper has explained the practice of the comprehensive development mode of the bus terminal and its meaning to TOD development mode of the bus station. On the basis of the above work, I made a certain amount of research about the function and traffic organization of bus transportation. The above research can offer guidance to the current rising comprehensive development of bus station, promote development mode change of the bus station in our country and the implementation of the priority policy of public transit, promote the harmonious development of economical, traffic and social profits of the bus station.
