Antimony is a heavy metal element, with the chronic toxicity and potential carcinogenicity of typical toxic metal, and it is a kind of global environmental pollution. Distribution of antimony in natural water is mainly due to weathering of rock, soil erosion and human behavior. The concentrationof antimony in natural water is less than1μg/L, but the content can reach the mining area water antimony hundreds or even thousands of μg/L. The trivalent antimony and the pentavalent are the main species of antimony in water environment. Under well oxygenated conditions, Sb (V) dominate, whereas under reducing conditions, Sb (III) are most common., Sb (Ⅲ) toxicity is Sb (V) ten times toxicit.On the purpose of solving the problem of high content of antimony in water resources, we use Ion exchange method to deal with the water, make its content of antimony to reach the national drinking water standard, and find an effective way to solve the problem of overproof of antimony in raw water. The study used D401chelating resin to repair theantimony polluted raw water, and provide the reference for the application of the method to repair the antimonypolluted water in engineering practice.The main contents of this paper are:(1) screening of ion exchange resin. The highest removal efficiency for antimony of ion exchange resin(or the maximum absorption capacity for antimony of ion exchange resin) was selected from D001, D201and D401.(2) Using D401chelating resin, the effects of the resin dosage, pH, the temperature of raw water and oscillation time on the removal rate for antimony were discussed through static test.(3) Breakthrough curves of D401resin were measured using D401chelating resin through dynamic test.(4) The absorption model of the removal for antimony was researched with D401chelating exchange resins through the absorption isotherm tests, and the removal mechanism of antimony was studied.(5) The regeneration tests of D401chelating resins were carried out, and the regenerative principle of resin was primarily discussed. The removal efficiency of antimony could be above95%.The results showed that the optimum esperimental conditions of D401chelating exchange resin were:resin dosage4.00g, pH7.0, the water temperature20℃, oscilation time up to1hour. The study present the type of absorption isotherm for removal antimony, the Freundlich contant of removal antimony and the freundlich adsorption model.Comparison of two kinds of regeneration solution of hydrochloric acid and sodium hydroxide, the comparison of different regeneration agent concentration of hydrochloric acid,4%sodium hydroxide solution wasobtained by the regeneration effect of the most suitable resin exchange capacity, regeneration of the resin can be obtained after recovery. Removal of antimony with method has the advantages of simple operation, strong practicability, removal efficiency higher characteristic ionexchange method. Therefore, removal of antimony is effective and feasible by ion exchange method.
