The electric power tower made in Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) has been researched to avoid many problems in current power tower. We introduce the present research at FRP applications in power construction, and design the FRP tower used in HOkV power transmission line. Based on the finite element method analysis of the impact of tower materials, we get the best size of tower. The specific work is as follows:First, analysis the FRP tower prospects and significance in engineering practice, research the FRP composite applications and the significance application of composite materials in Beijing FRP grid pilot project. We analyze the environmental impact of Beijing grid electromagnetic source, evaluatethe the electromagnetic environment and research the electromagnetic environment impact at Beijing110kV power grid.Second, design FRP tower for Beijing110kV power grid. According to the arrangement of wires, we identify two types of11OkV tower basic dimensions.Thrid, analyze the electromagnetic field of two types of towers. Based on the domain decomposition ideas, using coupling boundaries dimensional down space unbounded domain decomposition into a bounded sub-region and in-plane coupling surface outside unbounded sub-regions within the interface sub-region. Using the finite element method,we model the FRP and steel power by Ansoft, and analyze the ground surface of the wire and the field strength.Fourth, analyze the differences and reasons between the conventional tower and the FRP tower in the electromagnetic fields.Finally, analyze the impact of FRP tower changing in the electromagnetic environment, given the FRP tower size of the FRP tower to reduce the project cost.
