As one of the most important traffic facilities, bridge plays an important role in the development of traffic. The tied-arch bridges have been developing very fast for the recent20years in our country. The bridge has become an important bridge type. Through the bridge has been developed very lately, designers have considered little of the suspender replacement. The realization on the theories of suspender is not thorough, especially the theories of the renewal of suspenders. Meanwhile, some system weaknesses such as bad antiseptic property of suspenders and difficult to replace existed in some old bridges because of the limitation of technology and construction. This paper rely on a project of HangZhoutang bridge, research tied arch bridge replacement on construction technology.The main contents are as follows:1) Collection of information and overview of the development of tied arch bridge, type and characteristics;2) Overview of several suspenders force test method, the test focuses on the suspenders force vibration method principle and methods and precautions;3) Summed up the several methods of replacing suspenders and introduced the principles and methods of the temporary suspender method;4) In the early construction of arch bridge as background, apply the finite element to construct a replacing model and make the computed stress close to the measured one so as to get the initial situation, then analyze the replacement according to the designed plan and control tied displacement. After the finish of the project, the real curve and stress are measured and compared with theoretical value;5) At the same time, combining theory with project practice, the execution technology and skills are summarized and discussed, and a systematically replacement technology of suspenders is formed finally.
