Hub-shaft connection is commonly used as a mechanical drive connectionmode, its performance is related to the safety and reliability of the equipment when itis used. The research purpose of this paper is based on fixing the stator winderturntable of electric bicycles, designed and manufactured a hub-shaft connection witheasy accessibility, high centering accuracy, small footprint swelling and othercharacteristics(which is later referred to as hydraulic expansion sets).Firstly, according to the non moment theory and the moment theory, thecalculating formula deduced between the amount of deformation of thin-walled andpressure, also force transmission capacity and the pressure when the expansion setsare by internal pressure. The formula provides a theoretical basis for the structuraldesign of the hydraulic expansion sets based on axisymmetric cylindrical shell issuesin elasticity.Secondly, according to the mathematical model of the derived relationshipbetween function and structure, the precision design of the main structure and thedesign of other related components is completed, which is based on hydraulicexpansion sets initial target parameters. This paper presents strain finite elementanalysis the depressed stress about the main expansion sets with the ANSYSsoftware, the process to compare the theoretical values with the finite elements provethe correctness of the theoretical formula.Thirdly, this paper has planned the machining process for the issues aboutinternal and external hydraulic expansion sets thin cylinder wall thickness, overcomemanufacture difficulty about the high precision of size, and then complete theprototyping.Lastly,in order to verify the correctness of the design and actual performance, theperformance tests of hydraulic expansion sets is conducted with coordinatemeasuring machines and torsion testing machine. Analysis of test showed that theresults of the developed hydraulic expansion sets have achieved the desired designrequirements.
